Redevelopment of Quairading Memorial Swimming Pool

The Principal sought to upgrade its aging community pool to a modern aquatic facility. This resulted in appointing leading aquatics architects Donovan Payne Architects to tender the works. After extensive assessment, the project was awarded to ACorp Construction. Works included:

  • Demolition
  • New filtration and pipework
  • Detailed civil works
  • Specialised waterproofing elements

The existing 33m pool was cut back to 25m and a new family leisure pool complete with multiple water features was added. By using some of the existing pool structure, savings were made. However detailed waterproofing and extensive installation of new filtration and piping works were required to achieve today’s high compliance standards.

To complement the pool upgrade, the change rooms were substantially refurbished and upgraded to include all new tiling, fixtures and fittings and total reroofing. Externally the pool surrounds were afforded new paving and various shade sails.

This has resulted in a marked savings in running costs and more importantly significant increases in attendance.
